I am just few days before my first race in almost 2 years. I started to run again in may this year, with a mere 27 km per month. I benefited from Paulo’s training plan and I trained with more sense than ever. I got to run almost at the same level as when I was training for the marathon. Even better I managed recently to improve my times for 1 km, 1 mile, 5 km and 10 km. Halfway through September I ran 100 km. I am becoming dependent on running for clearing my head and my thoughts. I feel the need of running when I get angry, and I feel the same need when I am happy.
I mentioned in several occasions that I am fasting every week for 36 hrs. Which means that I eat Sunday evening and next meal is Tuesday morning. Recently I received a lot of questions on why I do such thing. So recently I posted this article on my FB page, that mentions 10 advantages. No title, just random thoughts. The weekend passed and so did my new running friends, they passed the test. I am talking about S-LAB WINGS SG from Salomon. Overall during the week-end I made 36 km and had no problems whatsoever. They feel fine, light, firm, and it is a great support for the feet when running on rough terrain. Novemberflåset 2013, in Stromstad, Sweden. 59 min. I was running for about 2 months, but never made it quite to 10. 7 was max. I ran it in my FiveFingers. I had prepared 2 articles. 1 about the weekend and my trip to Ciucas mountains where I went to see the half marathon path, from Ciucas X3. The other was about how do I feel at week 8 from my training program. I don´t need an article to say that I can just mention it in 1 word: DUMB. I feel dumb and sore. I am using Vibram FiveFingers since 2012 so I am entitled to have an opinion about it. Actually the FiveFingers in the photo are the ones I have bought in 2012. Why I bought such thing? I don´t know. I was in Mozambique, having money and not having where to spend it. 82 days 12 hours and roughly 30 min. Till my first race after my DNF from the second marathon attempt in 27th of December 2014. Baneasa Autumn Trail Run, Cros. Meaning 10.5 km. I was with my eyes on the race and even though I registered in the moment that they opened registration I have race number 103. They have the half marathon distance but I am there yet. Will take it easy, I want to pass through all the distances.
In the last 2 weeks, less than 2 weeks actually I have done more sports than in the last 6 months. Apparently coming back home was good. For a long period of time I was afraid to go out and run because one of the injuries that I was suspected of was Femoral Head Avascular Necrosis. Which would have been bad. That is why I was insisting to wait till I do a MR to my hip. But dealing with the medical system in Romania is not that easy and they managed to get me out of my nerves. 2016. Finally. I have been very anxious to see 2015 gone. In terms of running … actually in every area of my life 2015 has been a completely disaster. Personal, professional, health, running … you name it. Running, as that is the main area here, I can just say that I ran a total of about 127 km. That is all the year long. I started the year injured, and it last till June, when I finally was able to run some. I got another injury that kept me off in September.
