Busy calendar

And I like it. Since I received green light from my doctor, Vasile Osean from MedySportLine, it seems like races are coming to me. I was thinking at Sugas Race and Mountain Marathon Rafael. Actually I was thinking to choose in between them. I already had 1 half planned for the end of November, and thought that 1 before could help. Sugas was a bit out, but I decided to ask if they need volunteers. And they need. And while I was speaking with one of the organisers, I asked if as volunteer I can run also. And I can. So I will.  Sugas has 2 days, run and bike, where running has 2 distances: 17 and 24 km. I Read more

Training period & race day lessons

What did I learned? Main thing is that I am still dumb. That being said, I can continue. I had 12 weeks of training, which finished with the race day. My objective was below 50 initially, transformed in below 48, after I managed to lower my 10k time to 48 in one training session. I finished in 54,24. What went wrong? Well, after I judged at cold, I would say … besides my race strategy, nothing. I am capable in ideal conditions to lower my time, and I am able to finish 10.5 km below 48. Just in the race, those were not ideal conditions, and when setting my objective I did not considered that. Why I say those are Read more

Random

No title, just random thoughts. The weekend passed and so did my new running friends, they passed the test. I am talking about S-LAB WINGS SG from Salomon. Overall during the week-end I made 36 km and had no problems whatsoever. They feel fine, light, firm, and it is a great support for the feet when running on rough terrain. This is the beginning of a beautiful friendship. I am covering more distance from month to month and starts to show. From 60 km in June, I am now on 5th of september with 50 km already ran or hiked on the mountains. I can feel the difference and I am happy to see that my hip and knee can take Read more

Running loading … … … 15 %

I still haven´t finished the article about knee rehabilitation exercises. Kill me. Probably will not be done very soon. I am passing through another busy, frustrating, exhausting period in my life so writing was a bit left aside. I ran for the third time this month. 3 km again, and that puts me with a total of 8, 38 km. And an average pace of 7:31 min per km. I can give you all this information because last year  I received a very useful gift from my wife. A Garmin Forerunner 610, that was not used for it´s purpose since. But I can benefit now of all the reports and figures and plans and percentages that this gadget can show me. Read more

Future plans and training program

Hitting the wall after the marathon made me reconsider some plans. Secret plans that is, but still plans. I will not change anything in my goals till the end of the year, so I will work to improve my 10 k time. After the running experience I had on Sunday I also want to get more trail under my feet. Ok, lets talk numbers than. My PB for 10 k is 53.08 set in April in a race in Oslo. Before than my PB was 58:46, set in November 2013 in Sweden ( my first ever race ). My goal for the rest of the year is to lower my time till 45 min. In terms of races I will Read more
